Research Department
Overview
In 1998, the Berlin Center for Torture Victims (bzfo) founded its reseaerch department, which is the only German-speaking facility for victims of war and torture. In close cooperation with the therapeutic team, the reasearchers develop therapy modules and diagnostic instruments that are used in the bzfo as well as other clinical facilities.
Owing to the long-term basic funding provided through Prof. Jan Phillip Reemtsma (Hamburg Institute for Social Research), external funds have been made available for further projects. The original reasearch position was expanded to a reasearch department where five scientific researchers are currently employed.
